Feds: Georgia man tried to hire someone to kill ex-wife

The U.S. Attorney's office in Atlanta said Monday in an email that a grand jury indicted 29-year-old Michael McEarchern of Acworth on Jan. 3. The statement says McEarchern was in the Bartow County jail on drug charges when he reached out to several people in November to arrange the killing. One of them told a friend who notified the FBI.

Georgia man offered assassin basketball tickets to kill his ex-wife, feds say

A Georgia man was formally arraigned on charges of attempting to use U.S. mail and telephone communications to hire an assassin to murder his ex-wife from jail in Bartow County, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Georgia. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Michael McEarchern, 29, of Acworth, was arrested for drug charges in October of 2016.
