Two defendants have taken plea deals in a June 2015 double-homicide and robbery case in that was connected to a violent conflict over an area of East Contra Costa described by police as a "money block." The people killed, 23-year-old Clydedale Hoskin, Jr. and 28-year-old Adrian Craig, were on opposite sides of a robbery attempt that resulted in a chaotic shootout on the corner of Cavallo Road and East 18th Street in Antioch.

Tentative settlement reached in suit alleging Concord police shot man as he lay face up

A settlement has been reached in the lawsuit over the 2013 death of Charles Burns, shot and killed by two Concord officers after they showed up at his Antioch house to arrest him. Details of the agreement have not been made public, but they are expected to be released if the Concord City Council approves the settlement during a closed session hearing on Feb. 27. Both sides of the suit have said they anticipate the council's approval.
