Self-driving cars could be coming to Arlington, Mass., soon, as the Board of Selectmen have agreed to allow Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine take the first steps in bringing autonomous vehicle tests to town. Chapdelaine has been writing a memorandum of understanding with the state's Department of Transportation, which would allow self-driving car companies to apply to do their tests in town.

Gov. planning 'bit more' for opioid education

Gov. Charlie Baker, appearing before a legislative committee on Tuesday to pitch his newest opioid abuse treatment and prevention bill, told lawmakers the budget he intends to file next week will go beyond his initial $2 million pitch to help schools screen students for signs of addiction and educate them on the dangers of opioids. "It will be a little bit more," Baker told Rep. Diana DiZoglio of Methuen, who also raised questions about how that money would be distributed.
