Brothers arrested for home invasion in north Athens

Two brothers were arrested Tuesday night in connection with a home invasion last month at a Birch Place residence off Danielsville Road, Athens-Clarke County police said. The armed robbery occurred at about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 25 when two gunmen entered the home and held the occupants at gunpoint, police said.

A 47-year-old Athens woman reported that her cell phone was stolen Sunday evening at the Butt Hut on Macon Highway and that a friend had tracked the phone to a location in Oconee County, according to an Athens-Clarke police report. Police contacted the Oconee County Sheriff's Office and a deputy went to a home near Mars Hill Road, where deputies asked police to ring the phone.
