Bartlett, Tennessee is a suburb of Memphis. When the city was incorporated in 1866 the town had a population of less than a hundred. The name was changed from Union Depot to Bartlett, in honor of Gabriel M. Bartlett who lived nearby. Population skyrocketed in the 1970s and 1980s because of emigration to the city and annexation of surrounding areas. Two major attractions in Bartlett are the Nicholas Gotten House and the Bartlett Recreation Center.
