Bountiful doctor accused in child sex abuse, porn cases waives preliminary hearing

A Bountiful doctor accused of sexually abusing two young girls and viewing child pornography appeared in court Friday to waive a preliminary hearing. Nathan Clark Ward, 56, faces 11 felony charges in 2nd District Court, including sodomy on a child, aggravated sex abuse of a child and forcible sodomy, forcible sex abuse and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Former bank manager pleads guilty to embezzling funds to buy house

The former manager of a Zions Bank in Bountiful has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $500,000 from a customer to buy a house. According to court documents filed for his plea agreement, Frischknecht transferred $70,000 on Feb. 9, 2017, and $495,591 on May 8, 2017, for a total of $565,591, using a third-party line of credit.
