Revised Wawa plan wins board of adjustment approval

A controversial and highly contested plan to construct a Wawa convenience store, gas station and quick service restaurant at the corner of Duquense Boulevard and Route 70 will move forward despite the opposition of local residents. Brick 70 Developers LLC received approval to move forward with the project in a unanimous vote by the Brick Township Board of Adjustment on Dec. 6. Frustrated residents of the Lake Riviera neighborhood, which borders the site, stormed out of the meeting following the vote Wednesday evening, shouting objections along the way.
