Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a 42-year-old man who was gunned down outside a Brockton bar early yesterday morning, officials said. Brockton cops responding to multiple 911 calls reporting a person shot outside Dylan's Bar and Grill on Centre Street about 2 a.m. found David J. Carroll of Brockton suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to a statement issued by Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz's office.

Massachusetts alleges Medicaid fraud in federal lawsuit

A mental health provider that has served tens of thousands of low-income Massachusetts residents fraudulently billed the state's Medicaid program by allowing unlicensed, unqualified and unsupervised employees to see patients, Attorney General Maura Healey said Tuesday. South Bay Mental Health Center Inc. provided those services for MassHealth patients in violation of regulatory requirements, Healey said in announcing a federal lawsuit against the company.
