Prosecutor resigns after DA clashes again with Colorado Springs police over traffic charges

An El Paso County prosecutor has resigned after a complaint that he made a threatening phone call to a Colorado Springs police detective who disagreed with how prosecutors handled a high-profile traffic case. Jakrapong Pattamasaevi, a seven-year veteran of the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office, voluntarily left his $70,000-per-year job on Wednesday, a District Attorney's Office spokeswoman said.

Colorado Springs police arrested a 23-year-old accused burglar on felony assault and criminal mischief charges after the suspect lost a foot chase, kicked one officer in the head and smacked another in the face.
