Crossville comes together to remember fallen K-9 officer

The Crossville community came together over the course of two days to say goodbye to a brave four-legged police officer who gave his life in the line of duty. The community held a memorial visitation for K-9 Cain Wednesday night, signing a temporary memorial in honor of the service animal and his handler.

The Crossville Police Department said a K-9 officer has died after being stabbed while responding to a report of a stolen tractor trailer. Dispatch received a call around 4:45 a.m. about a semi-truck that sideswiped a vehicle traveling north on Highway 68 near Grassy Cove.
