Doc wants Gov. Snyder to rebuke comments about Flint water crisis 'hype'

A Flint pediatrician says he's still waiting for Gov. Rick Snyder to rebuke comments made by a former state drinking water official who said city residents were hurt more by hype than elevated lead in their water. Dr. Lawrence Reynolds, who Snyder appointed to a task force that investigated the Flint water crisis, told state government officials in a Dec. 1 meeting that he remains concerned that comments by Bryce Feighner have gone uncorrected for seven months.

After bullies break boy's arm during recess, lawsuit settled for $25K

A Flint non-profit has agreed to pay $25,000 to settle a lawsuit claiming lack of adult supervision during recess at a charter school it operates allowed bullies to "dog-pile" on a 10-year-old boy, breaking his arm and requiring surgery. Genesee County Circuit Judge Geoffrey Neithercut approved the settlement last month, directing the North Flint Reinvestment Corporation - which manages the Eagle's Nest Academy public charter school - to pay $25,000, covering attorney fees, additional costs and a $15,425.17 payout to the now 12-year-old boy.

A 20-year-old Flint man is dead and two other Flint residents remain in critical condition following a crash in rural Marathon Township.
