NPR education reporter to speak at literacy summit in Grand Rapids

The Literacy Center of West Michigan will hold its sixth annual Community Literacy Summit from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25. The summit will be held at Grand Valley State University's Eberhard Center, 301 W. Fulton St. in Grand Rapids. This year's theme is "Reading by Third Grade: Our Shared Opportunity and Our Shared Responsibility," according to a Literacy Center press release.

Fundraising for $21M Ottawa County trail project passes halfway point

An ambitious plan for a network of parks and trails along the Grand River between Grand Rapids and Grand Haven is now $2.8 million closer to becoming a reality.
