The Latest: Crews still working to restore power

The Latest on the aftermath and cleanup following the second storm to hit the Northeast in less than a week: : Utility crews are still working to restore electricity to more than 300,000 customers in the Northeast who lost power after Wednesday's nor'easter. The utility National Grid tried to assure Massachusetts customers Friday there were hundreds of crews working on restorations and power would be restored to the hardest hit areas, including the Merrimack Valley, by midnight Sunday.

At least one of the half-dozen sewage treatment plants nestled along the Merrimack River flushed wastewater into the waterway during the powerful nor'easter that ravaged coastal communities and dumped several inches of rain across the state. Haverhill sewers overflowed in two locations Friday "due to rainfall and high flow," one emptying the excess wastewater into the Merrimack and another into Little River, which flows into the Merrimack.
