Star City Shores Open Through Sunday

While most of Lincoln's public swimming pools closed Sunday, August 13, Star City Shores will remain open through Sunday, August 20. Hours are 3:30 to 7 p.m. today through Friday, August 18 and 12:30 to 6 p.m. August 19 and 20. The annual Dog Splash at Star City Shores will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. August 20. Tickets are $10 per dog and will go on sale at 6 p.m. at the front gates. Each dog may be accompanied by up to two adults and one child at least 8 years of age.

More Than 1,200 Packages of Diapers Donated for Lincoln Families

Mayor Chris Beutler today thanked all those who participated in the Walmart Diaper Drive August 4 and 5. The Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department received 1,205 packages and 914 packages of wipes for participants in two of its programs -- the WIC program and the Healthy Families America home visitation program.
