Man arrested in Middleton with 160 pounds of pot

A 37-year-old man is facing drug charges after investigators arrested him in Middleton on Monday while he was in possession of 160 pounds of marijuana, authorities said. Paul Lyman was arraigned Tuesday in Salem District Court on charges of trafficking marijuana and conspiracy, according to Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett's office.

Lynn blaze likely started in kitchen

The five-alarm Lynn apartment inferno that injured one woman and left 28 people homeless Monday is believed to have been due to cooking - the leading cause of house fires in Massachusetts, fire officials said. Although the origin of the blaze at 26 Broad St. was still under investigation yesterday, the likely cause was unattended cooking in a third-floor apartment from which firefighters rescued an unconscious woman, District Fire Chief Stephen Archer said.

Crews Battle Raging 3-Alarm Fire in Lynn

At least one person was injured in a three-alarm fire in a large multi-unit apartment complex in Lynn, Massachusetts, on Monday afternoon.
