In the south-central area of Arizona, the town of Marana is located. While the 2010 census lists the population as over 34,000 people, it is considered the fourth fastest-growing cities in the state. The city's name comes from the Spanish word for "thicket." The Marana Airfield trained about 10,000 pilots during World War II, making it one of the largest pilot training centers in the world. Also, the city became the host of the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, a PGA Tour event, back in 2007. While Henrick Stenson won the inaugural event, Tiger Woods won it the following year.

MARANA, AZ - Marana police are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store on Tuesday, Jan. 16. According to a tweet from Sgt. Chriswell Scott of the Marana Police Department, the incident happened at 7 a.m. at the AM/PM at 3825 W. Orange Grove Road.
