Officials hoping warm weather will take care of Kent ice dam

There are no plans to break up the mile-long ice dam that has caused flooding since Saturday, but after a 90-minute briefing involving federal, state and local officials Wednesday evening, authorities said they have resources and contingency plans in place if conditions worsen. Authorities still hope that Mother Nature will save Kent and downriver towns such as New Milford from flooding by gradually melting the ice so that the river flow gradually returns to normal, said State Rep. Brian Ohler.

Possible vote tonight on school budget proposal

The Board of Education may vote on a school budget for 2018-2019 tonight when members meet at 7 p.m. in the Board of Education conference room in the Parson's Government Center. School Supt.

Bus routes from Milford to Norwalk to change

The Coastal Link route, which provides service from Milford to Norwalk, will be running every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes on weekdays, Greater Bridgeport Transit officials say. The change will take effect on Sunday, Jan. 28. GBT CEO Doug Holcomb said Wednesday the change was necessitated by increasing congestion along the route, combined with an effort to make the service more reliable.

2 arrests made after investigation into illegal towing in Milford
