Austin woman accused of welfare fraud

An Austin woman who has received more than $30,000 in financial assistance stands accused of welfare fraud, according to court documents. Natasha Eileen Woods, 30, charged with one count of wrongfully obtaining assistance, a felony, made her first appearance in Mower County District Court on Thursday.

Girl's body found on Leech Lake Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota

CASS LAKE, Minn.-A girl's body was found last Friday morning in Cass Lake on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota. Cass County Sheriff's Office staff and other law enforcement officers were told of a body found shortly after 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, and discovered a "deceased juvenile female" within the city limits of Cass Lake.
