Dixon Senior Resource Fair is rescheduled

The Advocates for Dixon Seniors have rescheduled the fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Dixon Senior Multi-use Center, 201 South Fifth St. The event, originally scheduled for October, had to be canceled due to the fires raging in neighboring Sonoma and Napa Counties. The location for the fair, the senior center, was designated as a place for evacuees, in addition to the May Fairgrounds.

Army Corps delays debris removal in Mendocino County

A slow start to rebuilding, due to delays in removing debris from some areas, has frustrated homeowners as well as contractors working in Mendocino County. The Army Corps of Engineers and government contractors had to halt most of the debris cleanup from the October fires in Mendocino County after Florida-based company AshBritt Environmental filed a challenge with the U.S. Government Accountability Office this week.

Solano supervisors clear last employee contract during 1st session of 2018

The members of two units represented by the Solano County Deputy Sheriff's Association - the Law Enforcement Employees and the Law Enforcement Supervisors - received a 4 percent raise during the first year of the contract, which is effective Dec. 31, 2017, and runs through Dec. 30, 2019. The board is still considering the contract with the In-Home Support Service personnel and has entered into a "fact-finding process," according to an administration spokesman.
