In the latest twist in the sexual-harassment scandals in California government, Sen. Tony Mendoza said Thursday he is suing the state Senate, claiming its investigation of allegations against him violate due process. Mendoza, a Democrat whose district includes Artesia and other Gateway Cities, has been on leave since Jan. 3. The leave began as voluntary, but when he tried to return to the Senate, his colleagues voted Jan. 26 to extend the leave for up to 60 days while the investigation by two outside law firms hired by the Senate continues.
