When the Marin County Board of Supervisors meets at 9 a.m. on Tuesday in San Rafael's Civic Center it will hold a public hearing on a proposed ordinance that would amend Open Space District regulations adding electric bicycles to the list of motor-driven vehicles that are prohibited on district lands. The board will also consider adding up to 40 electric vehicle charging stations at the Civic Center and McInnis Park in San Rafael.

San Rafael cabbies face ouster from transit hub

The taxi zone at the San Rafael Transit Center will be closed to accommodate the construction of a SMART train spur to Larkspur. Taxis will no longer be allowed to pick up passengers at the San Rafael Transit Center beginning next month as the hub undergoes changes to accommodate Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit trains as part of an extension to Larkspur.
