Two hurt in crash on westbound I-90

Two people were seriously injured in a crash involving multiple vehicles that caused significant traffic delays on westbound Interstate 90 between Meacham and Roselle Roads in Schaumburg Thursday evening. A total of eight firefighter units from the Schaumburg Fire Department responded to a call of a car crash near the interchange of I-90 and I-290 to find three vehicles on the shoulder and median, according to Frank Chambers of the Schaumburg Fire Department.

High-rise condos could overlook Woodfield under Schaumburg proposal

Building upscale high-rise condos near Woodfield Mall -- an idea for which Schaumburg officials previously have sent developers away -- could become acceptable under proposed changes in the village's 22-year-old comprehensive land-use plan. The concept of residential buildings somewhere near Pace's Northwest Transportation Center, just west of the Streets of Woodfield shopping center, triggered discussion among village trustees Tuesday.

Reports: Barrington woman said torching SUV was a 'freak accident'

Julie Gagne, 47, is accused of using a flamethrower to torch her SUV in November and then falsely reporting it stolen to Schaumburg police. Barrington resident Julie Gagne said she was assembling a flamethrower in this office center parking lot off South Grove Avenue on a November evening before accidentally setting her luxury SUV on fire and later reporting it stolen in Schaumburg, according to police documents.
