Person responsible for dog's death being sought

TAYLOR - A dog left chained up and left to suffer in a garage in Taylor is now at the center of an investigation that could result in felony charges against the person or people responsible. The black and white pit bull type dog was found Wednesday by a neighbor on Marvin Street after his own dog began barking toward the area and appeared agitated.

Man who led officers on multi-city chase charged with five counts

The Taylor man, who was seen by robbing Tony's Tattoo Supply in Lincoln Park, was caught after a chase that also went through Southgate and Taylor on Christmas Eve. Last week he was arraigned on the breaking and entering charge, as well as for fleeing and eluding, malicious destruction of a building, resisting arrest and reckless driving.

Dinky Donuts closes at Southland Center

Dinky Donuts, which has been in the Southland Center in Taylor for several years, was still passing out sample doughnuts and selling product Dec. 31, but has been boarded up since. The chain has locations at the Fairlane Mall in Dearborn, the Westland Shopping Center, the Lansing Mall and a store in Jacksonville Florida.
