Man robbed, shot in leg in East Toledo

An East Toledo man was shot in the leg during what police described as a robbery outside his apartment Monday evening. The man, who was not immediately identified but believed to be in his mid-30s, was taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment of a wound not considered life-threatening, officers at the scene said.

Fund helps aid Toledo domestic violence shelters

Money generated by filing fees in domestic relations court and marriage license fees continue to help fund two Toledo domestic violence shelters. The third floor of ProMedica's Ebeid Institute on Madison Avenue will house a call center for Credit Adjustments Inc., slated to bring 500 jobs to the area. Pothole repairs to close lanes on Toledo freeways this weekend

Emergency pothole repairs will close one of two northbound lanes on I-75 for at least part of the day Saturday, followed by similar lane closings on I-475/U.S. 23 in Springfield Township, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced.
