Police: Car-bus crash kills car's driver, injures bus driver

Authorities say a bus and a car crashed head-on, killing the car's driver and injuring the driver of the transit authority bus in northwest Ohio. Toledo police say the car went across the center line and into the path of a Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority bus around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Man reports shooting at central Toledo home

Trevon Coleman, 25, whose address was not reported, told police he was standing on the porch at a friend's house Monday night when a four-door vehicle, possibly a dark turquoise Buick LaCrosse, drove by slowly, turned around, and drove by again, according to a police report. On the second pass an unknown person on the passenger side of the vehicle began shooting in his direction.

The competition to make make grocery shopping easier got stiffer Tuesday with the Toledo area debut of a San Francisco-based service that will shop for and deliver to the home groceries and other items. Charging a $149 annually, $14.99 monthly, or a one-time $5.99 delivery fee, Instacart hit the streets hoping to overtake existing services by giving customers more options.

Man charged in shooting pleads not guilty to bribery

A Toledo man charged with shooting and paralyzing a man entered a not-guilty plea Monday to a new charge of bribery. Jackie Leu, 57, of the 2000 block of Bakewell Street was indicted Aug. 4 for bribery, a third-degree felony, for allegedly offering the victim money, through a third party, to drop the charges last year.

Woman is guilty of getaway role in 'drug-fueled' robbery

A Toledo woman who drove the getaway car in a "drug-fueled" robbery pleaded no contest Monday and was found guilty of attempted aggravated robbery. Ashleigh Napier, 32, of the 2500 block of Collingwood Boulevard faces up to eight years in prison when she is sentenced Aug. 22 by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Stacy Cook.
